Roger E. Mosley, famous for his part in the action-crime series "Magnum, P.I.," has passed away. He was 83.
Mosley passed away in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, as the result of injuries he suffered in an accident with a car at Lynwood, the daughter of Mosley Ch-a Mosley confirmed to USA Today.
This actor had his TV debut in the crime drama "Longstreet" beginning in the year 1971. He also was in numerous films during the 1970s and '80s, including the crime thriller "Hit Man,"" the blaxploitation film "The Mack" and the John Wayne drama "McQ."
However, Mosley has not left the television world and was a regular in shows like "Kojak," "The Rockford Files,"" "Starsky and Hutch,"" "The The Life and Times Grizzly Adams," "Sanford and Son,"" "Kung Fu,"" as well as "The Love Boat."
His first big showbiz success however, was 1980, when he landed the role as a an helicopter pilot Theodore "TC" Calvin on "Magnum, P.I.," that starred Tom Selleck and John Hillerman.

"They (the Magnum writers) continue to write for me to drink and smoke however I'm not going to do that," Mosley told Ebony in a 1982 interview according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I don't take a hit, smoke or consume alcohol on TV, or on the real world. This is not what I would like Black children to be exposed to."

The daughter of his father, Gina Griffin, said Gooden died on August. 4, just a one month short of his 88th birthday. He died in his home town from Chattanooga, Tennessee, surrounded by his family.
